I have been tempted to buy a Cricut (smart cutting machine) for a while.

ree

I have not been able to convince myself that I NEED one and therefore do no NEED to spend the money (or time, or space) on this crafter's dream tool. But, when there is a SALE on this dream tool, I must admit that want begins to outweigh need. My inner arts supply hoarder lobbies hard. My finger creeps ever closer to the BUY button as the sale banner drifts across my tablet screen.

Enter Darth Sherlock, Master of the Obvious, Destroyer of Crafty Dreams, and previously introduced inner critic. He takes me back to my last day off.

Sunday morning:

I get out of bed, woken by my snooze-free cat alarm, inspired by her dulcet tones to dish up pet breakfast. Furry family fed, coffee brewed, I sit down to read, sip and contemplate my day. The humming birds are swarming the feeder outside the window. I should pull out my camera, maybe get some slow motion videos with my phone, dump the files. to my computer. I could work in Photoshop. Maybe I can work on learning the video editing program today. I should also get some good photos of my latest artwork for my website. Maybe write another blog, since I didn't last weekend because of the micro fiction writing contest I entered.

At this point, I get around to taking my first sip of coffee.

ree

Before I get to any of that, I need to get a bit of exercise and maybe check a few chores off my list. I have to start the magic staff project I promised to do for Nathan. That has to be first because it involves resin casting which involves cure time. If I start it first thing this morning, I might manage to get two pours in today. So: Resin, Dogs, Chores, Hummers, Adobe, Blog. It's a plan.

After coffee, shoes on, I take the dogs out. Walking often involves my best thinking time.

I think about how much I would love to learn a song on one of my two dust collecting ukuleles.

ree

I think about downloading a karaoke app. I have always wanted to do karaoke but abandon the plan in the moment. Maybe if I wear a wig and sunglasses, develop a karaoke persona.

What I should do is practice my choir music. I can do that while I art later. Maybe I'll try to finish a couple of dragon cats or the bottle chandelier. I havent used the microwave kiln recently. The same could be said for the image transfer hot plate, the pulp paper blender, the sewing machines, the acrylic pour supplies...

My Pintrest page is full of amazing ideas for sun catchers, hanging collages of feathers and bones, shells and rocks, things to build, to crochet to sculpt. glass art, giant puppets and bird houses. I want to get to all of these things.

I want to dive down internet rabbit holes, investigating wild creatures like Platipodes (did you know that the males have venomous spurs?)

I want to think deep thoughts and make plans. I want to be a part of creating a more comprehensive recycling program in my community. I want to build an education program around sustainable theatre practices. I want to write. and maybe, brush up on my Spanish.

Dogs walked, I sit down for a short break. I pull out my book and

when I look up, it is dinner time.

So I've been thinking of purchasing a Cricut cutter. They are on sale, after all.

If you were even mildly entertained, please think about subscribing by clicking the button at the top or going to www.tasia.shop. One day I might even have things you can buy.
