This is Phyll

ree

They came into my life a little over a year ago.

I figured that Phyll increased the "green" rating on my already fuel efficient hybrid and I loved the idea of this tiny traveling biome buddy.

If every car on earth adopted a 2 inch by 1 inch moss pet, the impact would be similar to planting 112,291,667 trees. This is based on interwebs math, so take it as you will.

I encourage you to search the term "moss pet names". It is a thing.

I haven't yet names the large patch of moss on the patio near my dryer vent or the one on the ramp of my front patio. Then again, my ability to name living things suck. Most of the names are literal--naming a male dog Boy Dogg, for example. I'd probably call the moss "Green Moss" or "Flat Fuzzy" or something equally unbecoming for such a marvelous species. However, I do periodically talk to my moss patches and the various little dinosaur ferns that pop up on the stucco of my house.

Any name is a good name. It is so much easier to de-humanize, and thus devalue the world around us than it is to find joy and importance in the bits and pieces that make our world a better place. Names give value.

Your pet Phyll sounds quite eco-conscious ... but you didn't mention that you also save on water because you can't go through a car wash lest you scour and spray away darling Phyll ... who might then end up in a polluted stream or some other equally disastrous venue.
